Guangzhou International Furniture Fair (CIFF) will move to Shanghai from this autumn, this change is only for CIFF in September, the CIFF in March would still be held in Guangzhou. The 36th China (Shanghai) International Furniture Fair would be held during Sep 8th ~ 12th, 2015 at National Exhibition Center in Shanghai, which is about 5 minutes’ driving from Shanghai Hongqiao Airport. “This is a great opportunity for Guangdong furniture companies to show their products and services in front of competitors and consumers from Yangtze River Delta furniture market.” said by Ke Wong, the chairman of Guangdong Furniture Association, on the August 25th News Release Conference.

Half of the exhibitors are companies from Guangdong Province

Since the autumn CIFF announced that it would move to Shanghai last September, many furniture companies has decided to take part in it, all the exhibition are full now, and there are still lots of furniture manufacturers are waiting for the chance to show them in this all “new” furniture fair. The total exhibition area would be the max of National Exhibition Center – 400,000 square meters, the products cover home modern furniture, office furniture, home antique furniture, outdoor furniture, home decoration & textile, furniture production equipment & accessories and international furniture design, 6 exhibition areas and 2 special hall, the minimum exhibition area would be more than 30,000 square meters.

Guangdong furniture companies occupied 2/3 exhibitors in autumn CIFF before, they would still be the backbone of this new CIFF in Shanghai, “Guangdong furniture companies are always in the leading position of China furniture industry, they are the most important exhibitors of Guangzhou International Furniture Fair, also the main force of autumn Shanghai Furniture Fair. There would be about 600 Guangdong furniture companies in this furniture show, this number is half of the total exhibitors.” Said by Ke Wong.

Guangzhou Furniture Fair VS Shanghai Furniture Fair

Many furniture brand enterprises in this furniture fair increase their funding to get larger exhibition area to show their ability all round, the largest exhibition net area is 2,808 square meters, and the average net area of all exhibitors is 140 square meters.

Guangzhou Furniture Fair is different from Shanghai Furniture Fair, it pays attention to the quality of exhibitors, but Shanghai Furniture Fair emphasizes more on external factors, it is more fashionable and global, maybe this is because this two fairs are operated by different companies, Guangzhou fair is in the charge of new China local company, but Shanghai fair is owned by professional France fair company.

Most international buyers in Guangzhou fair comes from the Middle East, and the overseas visitors in Shanghai fair are mainly European, some of them need to fly between Guangzhou and Shanghai to visit this two fairs before, now they don’t need to, all international furniture buyers can visit Shanghai in September and focus on finding the suppliers they are interested in. This change would also be convenient for furniture companies, they only need to prepare one fair in Shanghai instead of making two fairs in both Shanghai and Guangzhou at the same time, this would help this China furniture suppliers expand their international market.
